Jim Buchan: I have had a varied work career. Started off working as an Engineer (Marine) but moved in to Education at an early stage. I taught Technical Subjects in a Secondary school. I always had an interest in computers which eventually took me down a different career path. I lectured the subject of Computer Education at the Northern College of Education and worked for Learning and Teaching Scotland as its Chief Technology Adviser working in particular on the Scottish Schools Digital Network which included Glow. In January 2008 I started a new job with Cisco Systems Ltd in its Public Sector Emerging Markets Division.
